EUDR Compliance and Strategic Partnership with Osapiens – James Cropper Update – August 2025
Dear Valued Customer,
We welcome the introduction of Regulation (EU) 2023/1115, which mandates that products placed on the EU market must be deforestation-free, legally produced, and supported by robust due diligence. This regulation, applicable to products harvested after 30/12/2025, aligns with the EU’s broader environmental goals under the Green Deal and Biodiversity Strategy.
At James Cropper we are proactively aligning our operations with EUDR requirements. Our cross-functional team is implementing the necessary procedures, systems, and infrastructure to meet full compliance across our product portfolio.
We are pleased to confirm our strategic partnership with Osapiens, a leading compliance technology provider. This collaboration supports our risk assessment processes and facilitates integration with the EU Traces System for Due Diligence Systems.
In the final stage of our EUDR implementation, we are working to automate the integration of TARIC codes into our export documentation. This will enable customs authorities to efficiently identify goods that are exempt from the scope of the Regulation, such as:
- Products made from 100% recycled material
- Products containing pulp harvested during the transitional period of the EUDR.
These TARIC codes are part of the EU’s mechanism to distinguish between goods requiring a Due Diligence Statement (DDS) and those that are exempt. We remain committed to ensuring our business is fully prepared to meet the compliance requirements of the EUDR—effectively, efficiently, and transparently.
Rest assured that we’re confident in our ability to deliver the intended TARIC code system ahead of the December deadline to allow for seamless transition following the implementation of EUDR.
Kind regards,
James Cropper EUDR Project and Compliance Team
